Abstract
The Hmar language belongs to the Tibeto-
Burman family of languages and is a part of
the Lushai-Kuki-Chin group. It is a verb
final language. It was first reduced to
the written word in the Linguistic Survey of
India done by G.A. Grierson way back
at the beginning of the last century. The
language may be said to be in a developing
stage; it requires standardization in several
areas.
