Abstract
The Pascal triangle is well known. Starting with a single 1 at the top, successive rows are obtained using a simple generating rule. Here is what we get as a result (we have shown only the first few rows): The generating rule used is that from the second row downwards, each term is the sum of the two numbers immediately above it, to its upper left and to its upper right.
